- Adenosine kinase (AK) is a two-domain protein that catalyzes the phosphorylation of adenosine to adenosine monophosphate. Inhibitors of AK could increase adenosine to levels that activate nearby adenosine receptors and produce a wide variety of therapeutically beneficial activities.
