OBJECTIVE: To investigate the chemical constituents of Chinese lichen Lobaria yunnanensis. METHODS: Various chromatographic techniques were used to isolate and purify the constituents and their structures were elucidated by means of spectral evidence together with physiochemical properties. RESULTS: Five compounds were isolated from the plant and identified as orsellinic acid , ethyl orsellinate , 3, 5-dihydroxytoluene , lecanoric acid and gyrophoric acid , respectively.
