OBJECTIVE: Molecular imaging, which has developed rapidly in recent years, combined traditional imaging techniques with newly developed molecular imaging probes to achieve rapid,non-invasive and accurate reflection of tumor angiogenesis. This study aimed to summarize the current progress of Arg-Gly-Asp molecular imaging on predicting the effect of anti-angiogenesis therapy, and explore the possibility of RGD molecule as an indicator to predict the therapeutic effect of anti-angiogenesis therapy.METHODS: By using PubMed and CNKI journal full text database retrieval system, the key words were 'RGD,angiogenesis,anti-angiogenesis therapy, integrin',and the relevant literatures were retrieved from 1998-01-01-2018-12-30.Inclusion criteria:RGD and integrin related literatures; molecular imaging of RGD and tumor; angiogenesis in tumor tissues; anti-angiogenic therapy on tumors.Exclusion criteria:review; lack of research data or poor quality of literature.According to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,49 articles were analyzed.RESULTS: Persistent angiogenesis is the characteristic of malignant tumors. The quantification of neovascularization in malignant tumors is considered to be an important independent prognostic marker. The integrin αvβ3 plays an important role in angiogenesis and tumor metastasis.RGD peptides can specifically bind to integrins αvβ3.RGD molecular probes labeled with radionuclides can be used to image tumor blood vessels, reflect the changes of tumor blood vessels after anti-angiogenic drug treatment, and predict the curative effect of anti-angiogenic drugs.CONCLUSIONS: RGD molecules have been gradually used in the research and clinical application of various tumor angiography. It is a promising molecular imaging technology to predict the efficacy of anti-angiogenesis therapy.收起
