- Graphical abstract Reduction of aromatic nitro compounds to aromatic amines was realized with excellent yield by using nanoporous palladium as sustainable catalyst and silane/alcohol as hydrogen source. Unlabelled Image Highlights • Np-Pd/hydrosilanes/alcohol system was used for hydrogen transfer reaction. • The reduction of aromatic nitro to prepare aromatic amines was realized with green hydrogen source. • A possible mechanism was proposed with kinetic studies.
