Comparison and analysis of the efficacy and influencing factors of local sclerotherapy injection and combined oral propranolol treatment for periocular infantile hemangioma.

Objective To retrospectively compare the clinical efficacy and prognostic related factors of two different regimens in the treatment of periorbital infantile hemangiomas. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on a total of 78 children with periorbital infantile hemangiomas who were admitted to the Department of Plastic Surgery in Shandong Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University from 2018 to 2022. They were grouped according to the treatment methods. In Group A, oral propranolol combined with local injection of triamcinolone acetonide and lauromacrogol was used; in Group B, only local multi-point injection of triamcinolone acetonide and lauromacrogol within the tumor was performed. Compare the treatment time, tumor range, volume and blood flow signals of the two groups of children. Results The treatment time and the number of sclerotherapy sessions in Group A were less than those in Group B. When comparing the age at the start of treatment, the classification of hemangiomas, the volume of the tumor, and the impact of blood flow signals on the treatment effect between the two groups of children, the differences were statistically significant . Conclusion Combined treatment with oral propranolol and local injection of triamcinolone acetonide and polyvinyl alcohol for infantile vascular tumors around the orbital region can shorten the triamcinolone acetonide. Polyvinyl alcohol injection alone is also a safe and effective alternative method.收起
