Proton radiation therapy leverages the unique physical characteristics of the Bragg peak to deliver high-dose radiation precisely to the tumor target while significantly reducing the dose to surrounding normal tissues. However, the implementation of this technology heavily relies on complex equipment systems and stringent quality control processes. To standardize quality management and ensure the safety and efficacy of proton therapy, the Expert Committee of Radiotherapy Quality Control of the National Cancer Center / National Quality Control Center for Cancer has developed this guideline. The guideline systematically establishes a quality control framework for the entire lifecycle of proton therapy systems, encompassing personnel qualifications, equipment configuration requirements, definitions of beam characteristic parameters, and a complete set of quality control procedures, including acceptance testing, routine quality assurance , and patient-specific verification. The guidelines are applicable to proton therapy systems employing mainstream technologies such as passive scattering, uniform scanning, and pencil beam scanning. It aims to provide a technical foundation for healthcare institutions to establish standardized and homogeneous quality control systems for proton therapy, thereby continuously improving the quality and safety of proton radiotherapy in China.收起
