Introduction: Depression, the leading cause of disability worldwide, is known to be exacerbated by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection, worsening coronavirus disease 2019 outcomes. However, the mechanisms and treatments for this comorbidity are not well understood.
