The national '14th Five-Year Plan' for the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine clearly states the goal of 'strengthening the collaboration and joint research between TCM and Western medicine, promoting the coordinated development of TCM and Western medicine in general hospitals, and improving the level of integration of TCM and Western medicine'. The national '14th Five-Year Plan' for the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine clearly states the goal of 'strengthening the collaboration and joint research between TCM and Western medicine, promoting the coordinated development of TCM and Western medicine in general hospitals, and improving the level of integration of TCM and Western medicine'. At present, general hospitals still face multiple challenges in the coordinated development of TCM and Western medicine. Since 2020, Shandong Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University, adhering to the principle of 'giving equal emphasis to TCM and Western medicine' has promoted the practice of coordinated diagnosis and treatment of TCM and Western medicine in various clinical departments. The main measures include: improving the organizational structure; exploring the establishment of a joint diagnosis and treatment mechanism and strengthening personnel training; exploring the establishment of TCM-Western medicine collaborative advantage diseases ; constructing a scientific research platform ; improving the quality control system; and establishing a performance management model that reflects the characteristics of TCM. With the implementation of coordinated diagnosis and treatment measures between TCM and Western medicine, the hospital has achieved significant results in the construction of a TCM-Western medicine coordinated 'flagship' hospital, talent team, diagnosis and treatment capabilities, and scientific research innovation. For example, it has successfully been approved as a pilot for a TCM-Western medicine coordinated 'flagship' hospital, with a continuously growing talent team; TCM-Western medicine collaborative diagnosis and treatment teams have been established, with clearly defined key collaborative diseases; relying on information technology, guidelines for TCM-Western medicine collaborative consultation have been promoted; leveraging the advantages of disciplines, breakthroughs have been achieved in TCM-Western medicine combined prevention and treatment research; and indicators related to TCM business operations continue to improve.收起
