摘要

Radiation-induced ocular injury is one of the common complications of radiotherapy for head and neck malignant tumors. Due to the complex and intricate anatomy of the head and neck, radiotherapy cannot fully spare the eyes and surrounding normal tissues, resulting in ocular adverse reactions. Common radiation-induced ocular injuries include dry eye syndrome, cataracts, retinopathy, and optic neuropathy. Radiation-induced ocular injury is one of the common complications of radiotherapy for head and neck malignant tumors. Due to the complex and intricate anatomy of the head and neck, radiotherapy cannot fully spare the eyes and surrounding normal tissues, resulting in ocular adverse reactions. Common radiation-induced ocular injuries include dry eye syndrome, cataracts, retinopathy, and optic neuropathy. These injuries can cause a series of adverse symptoms such as dry eyes, decreased vision, ocular motility disorders, and blindness, which affect the patients' quality of life. With advancements in radiotherapy techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration, how to improve tumor control rates while maximizing the protection of normal ocular tissues has become an urgent issue to be addressed in the field of radiotherapy. This article reviews the clinical manifestations, mechanisms of injury, risk factors, and treatment methods for radiation-induced ocular injury.收起
